STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE

To help you get the best possible results from your Deck Doc purchase, we’ve put together a step-by-step guide with expert tips. Follow these simple steps to help restore your timber’s natural beauty and ensuring long-lasting protection. Let’s get started!

Timber Preparation

STEP 1

Sweep surface to remove cobwebs, loose dirt, leaves and debris. 

STEP 2

Mix 1 cup of Deck Doc Timber Cleaner with 5L of warm water. 

STEP 3

Apply Timber Cleaner solution with an Easy Mop Head & Cleaner Pad

STEP 4

Leave timber for 10-15 minutes for the cleaner solution to work.

STEP 5

Scrub gently and allow the natural colour to come through.

STEP 6

Rinse thoroughly and allow timber to dry for 24-48 hours.

PRO TIP

Always let the timber cleaner sit for 10-15 minutes to give the product enough dwell time.

COVERAGE

5L of Deck Deck Timer Cleaner mixture (1 cup of cleaner and 5L of warm water) covers approx. 20 sqm.

Oil Application

STEP 1

Make sure to shake Deck Doc Timber Oil drum well before opening.

STEP 2

Pour Timber Oil into a bucket that will fit your Easy Mop Head. 

STEP 3

Apply Timer Oil with an Easy Mop Head and Lambs’ Wool Applicator.

STEP 4

Don't apply too much as the timber can only absorb a limited amount.

STEP 5

Work the Timer Oil evenly with and across the timber grain. 

STEP 6

Focus on small sections at a time and wipe off any excess.

PRO TIP

Always make sure the timber is completely dry before applying oil and always apply in dry, sunny weather.

COVERAGE

1L of Deck Doc Oil covers approx. 12-15 sqm depending on the density of wood, moisture content & surface roughness.

On Small Area First To Ensure Timber Absorbs Oil

Aftercare & Maintenance

Use the Deck Doc Oil Scouring Pad on with they Easy Mop Head to work the oil into the timber. This smooths the surface and drives oil deep into the wood. Wait 2-3 hours tor dry and then use the Deck Doc Microfibre Buffing Pad to leave a sheen on the deck. You can also use a commercial polishing machine for a satin sheen.

PRO TIP

Clean tools with hot, soapy water or mineral turpentine.

PRO TIP

If water still beads off your timber, it's still well-protected.

RE-OILING

Feed it when it needs it ... your timber tells you when it needs more oil! Most of the time, one coat is enough, unless your timber is very weathered. If applying a second coat, make sure the first coat is fully dry before reapplying. For best results clean with Deck Doc Timber Cleaner and reapply Deck Doc Timber Oil once a year to maintain appearance and protection of your timber.
