Very old timber deck looking amazing, happily recommend.
Hi I bought this product recently and coated a very old timber deck. I was looking for something eco friendly and natural.
I have resealed many timber decks in both water based and oil based products in the past. I had previously used raw linseed on an undercover deck in another home it took months to dry but lasted years, without reapplication. Raw linseed was not an option for this deck as it is not fully covered and the drying time is just too long. I have used boiled linseed on another deck and whilst it dried in 24 hours, the results only lasted a few months and I found that it didn't repel water.
After much research I decided to give Deck Doc a go, I followed the instructions and did not over apply and wiped off the excess as I went along.
The deck Doc dried in approx 48 hours at Daytime temp of 20 -22 degrees overnight temps were 5 degrees.
I'm super impressed at how easy the product was to apply and how well the product repels water and the results were impressive.
I will reapply in 12 months or sooner if needed, as the deck faces the harsh northwest afternoon sun. Being that only one coat is needed and it can be used sparingly, It is definitely more cost effective than other products. I bought 4 litres and will have enough for maybe two more applications.
I'll do an update in 6 months, to assess how it's held up under the northwest full afternoon sun conditions.
